Readers, patrons, & friends —
I’m writing to let you know I intend to take a quick break from publishing articles so that I can focus on a few long-term projects over the next few weeks or, at the most, a month. Since 2016’s ‘democratic’ primaries, I’ve written ( and made artwork for ) about 1 article every 3.8 days, reported live across the nation with just a little Honda & the support of my readers, from Oregon to the DNC in Philly & all the way to Standing Rock — and now, it’s time for a short hiatus.
In these weeks, I’ll be working on a book I’ve begun and sending all of the poetry books, postcards, & other rewards promised to the generous ( &, I hope, patient ) patrons who graciously support my work with monthly donations on Patreon. I also plan to use some of this time to replenish my spirits by foraging for wild mushrooms in the sublime wilderness of my beloved Oregon ( I discovered a new trove of golden chantrelles just the other day, all of which became an excellent soup for my community ). And, with any luck, a lot of reading, tai chi, & poetry-scribbling will be involved, as well.
I may still publish an article or graphic or two because I just can’t help myself sometimes — but we’ll see! In the meantime, feel free to reach out to me using the contact form below this post ( or the one on front page of this site ) and I will do my best to respond. Anyway — I’ll be back in a few weeks or a month with fistfuls of new ideas and, if the muses be kind, perhaps a new book….
